1 INGREDIENTS
- Onions 6 large
- Maida 2 cups
- Cornflour 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- White Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp
- Baking Powder 1/2 tsp
- Oil for frying 1/2 cup
2 COOKING DIRECTIONS
- Cut the onions into thick round slices.
- Separate the slices into rings and select only the large outer rings.
- Sift together refined flour, cornflour, salt, white pepper powder and baking powder.
- Gradually stir in half a cup of oil and one-and-a-qaurter cups of water to make a thick batter.
- Whisk the batter continuously for about five to ten minutes.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Dip onion rings in the batter and deep-fry till crisp.
- Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.
